The City of Bonn

Bonn is one of the oldest cities in Germany. Evolved at the place of a fortress erected by the Romans in 10 B.C., it was a baroque residence and captial city of the Electors of Cologne, It is hosts the birthplace of the famous composer Ludwig van Beethoven and the Friedrich Wilhelm University founded in 1818. From 1949 until 1989 it was the German Federal Capital. In addition to many places to visit and to stay in the city centre within walking distance from the hotel Bonn, e.g., wine bars and restaurants, there are a number of interesting museums lined up along the so-called Museums Meile.
