TRAVEL TO NOTTINGHAM
AND CONFERENCE SITE



TRAVEL

The Conference takes place at The Nottingham Trent University, Newton Building, where the Tutorials all of the Technical Sessions and the Exhibition will take place. The registration desk will be placed in the hallway on the first floor of the Newton Building in front of the Exhibition Halls. The Plenary Lectures will be held in the Lady Dianogly Lecture Theatre situated in the Boots Library, 100m away from the Newton Building.

BY AIR
The East Midlands International Airport is some 12 miles from the centre of Nottingham, close to Junction 24 of the M1 Motorway. There are regular flights from destinations in the UK and Europe. The University and conference hotels can be reached from the airport by coach (40 minutes) or by taxi (20 minutes). See for example http://www.itn.net for international flight information.

BY RAIL
Nottingham (Midland) Station is centrally located approximately one mile from the University’s city site. Regular Inter-City Services operate to Nottingham. Average journey times from London (St. Pancras) to Nottingham 1hour 45 minutes; from Birmingham 1 hour 20 minutes; from Edinburgh 5 hours. See for example

BY COACH

BY CAR
Nottingham is at the heart of the country and is well served by the motorway network. The M1 passes close to the west of the city, the A42/M42 link to the south-west of the city and A1(M) to the east of the county. See e.g.

  CONFERENCE FACILITIES

The conference rooms will have the OHP projection installed as standard. The 35mm slides projection and the LCD - OHP projection can be arranged if required by the presenters.

The Plenary lectures will be held in the Lecture Theatre equipped with a Video system capable of showing the following formats, PAL, SECAM, NTSC, NTSC 4.3 and also PAL WIDESCREEN 16:9 The Projector is normally set to 1024 by 768 pixels but should there be a requirement to operate it at different resolution the presenters are required to make a specific request. The Lecture Theatre is also equipped with a 35mm slide projector and, instead of the OHP, there is a Visualiser which can display text directly from books and solid 3D objects.

The participants will have an access to several PCs connected to the Internet throughout the duration of the conference.
