Topic: “Tether-free technologies in e-Manufacturing, e-Maintenance and e-Service”
Prof. Dr. Jay Lee

Prof. Dr. Jay Lee is Wisconsin Distinguished and Rockwell Automation Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee as well as Director of Industry / University Cooperative Research Center on Intelligent Maintenance Systems (IMS). Previously, he served as Director for Product Development and Manufacturing at the United Technologies Research Center (E. Hartford, CT). Currently he is a member of Board on Manufacturing and Engineering Design (BMAED) of National Research Council (NRC), and a member of Board of Directors for the National Center for Manufacturing Science (NCMS).

Prof Lee will cover the following topics in his lecture:

  • state-of-the-art practices on wireless technologies and standards
  • e-Manufacturing Systems Architecture
  • definition and needs in e-Manufacturing, e-Maintenance and e-Service
  • opportunities and barriers in using wireless technologies in manufacturing
