38th ECMS International Conference on Modelling and Simulation
Cracow, Poland, June 04th – June 07th, 2024
Join the leading scientific forum for simulation experts from around the world
The ECMS International Conference on Modelling and Simulation is the annual conference of the European Council for Modelling and Simulation, an independent forum of academics and practitioners from around the world dedicated to research, development, and applications of modelling and simulation. ECMS 2024 is hosted by the Faculty of Computer Science (Cracow University of Technology), Poland.
Theme:
The human capacity to abstract complex systems and phenomena into simplified models has played a critical role in the rapid evolution of our modern industrial processes and scientific research. As a science and an art, Modelling and Simulation have been one of the core enablers of this remarkable human trace, and have become a topic of great importance for researchers and practitioners. The increasing availability of massive computational resources and interconnectivity has helped fuel tremendous advances in the field, collapsing previous barriers and redefining new horizons for its capabilities and applications.
Call for contributions:
The ECMS International Conference on Modelling and Simulation is ranked B in CORE ranking and is dedicated to help define the state of the art in different fields involved in creating, defining, and building innovative simulation systems, simulation and modelling tools and techniques, and novel applications for modelling and simulation. Prospective authors are invited to submit high-quality papers representing original results in all related areas of modelling and simulation. Published papers will be sent for indexation to DBLP, SCOPUS, ISI, INSPEC and DOI. Conference is valued at 70 parametric points by the Polish Ministry of Education and Science. High quality selected papers will be considered for publication in a focused issue with some international journals. An author of each accepted paper must register and present the paper at the conference. Detailed instructions for submission are available on the conference website.
Due to the current global situation, visitors who are unable to enter Poland will be given the opportunity to present a paper online.
ECMS 2024 is happy to announce our keynote speakers:
Prof. Stanisław Drożdż – Complex Systems Theory Department, Institute of Nuclear Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences and Faculty of Computer Science and Telecommunication, Cracow University of Technology. Title of talk: Complex Systems Approach to Natural Language
Prof. Vilém Novák – Institute for Research and Applications, University of Ostrava. Title of talk: Formal theory of quantifiers in natural language and their syllogisms
Best paper awards:
All submitted papers will be evaluated for the Best Conference Paper Award and Best Student Paper Award.
Local attractions:
The thousand-year-old seat of kings, it is home to a fairytale castle steeped in dragon legends, a UNESCO-listed, picturesque Old Town adorned with church towers and monuments befitting any European city, and one of the oldest universities in Europe, which fuels a frenetic nightlife scene. It’s in Krakow that you’ll find the charming Kazimierz district with the oldest synagogue in this part of Europe, with nooks and crannies made famous by films such as Schindler’s List. It is also the city through which Poland’s longest river flows, as well as the Nowa Huta district – a city out of a communist socialist realist dream. Not far from Krakow is the unique Wieliczka salt mine. This UNESCO-listed site is a must-see for anyone staying in Krakow.
The conference will include the following tracks:
- Business Process Modelling and Simulation for Industrial Operations (BPMI)
- Digital Twins for Smart Manufacturing (DTSM)
- Finance, Economics and Social Science (FES)
- Finite Discrete Elements Simulation (FDEM)
- Mathematical Modelling and Computer Simulations (MathMo)
- Open and Collaborative Models and Simulation Methods (OCMS)
- Resilient and Sustainable Supply Chain Modelling and Simulation (RSSC)
- Simulation and Optimization (SIMO)
- Special Students’ Track on Modelling, Simulation and Visualization (SSTMSV)
- Cybersecurity Modelling and Simulation (SecMoS)
- Modelling and Simulation for Performance Evaluation of Computer-based Systems (MaSPECS) with Data Intensive Systems (DIS)
