Resilient and Sustainable Supply Chain Modelling and Simulation

Aspects of resilient and sustainable supply chains (RSSC) have become more and more popular in the last few years. Highly dynamic and complex supply chains call for an increase in key aspects of resilience and sustainability, while at the same time requiring improvement in their capability to manage disruption risks and disclosure procedures. Moreover, recent changes in political and external factors led to the need to re-thinking and evaluate different typologies of supply chain strategic configurations and provide solutions to unexpected problems in a very short time. For this purpose, simulation models showing the resilient, sustainable, responsive, and/or complex supply chain could be built and discussed. In particular, the association between complexity and innovation requirements should be more explored.
